Man Of The Match: Asa Knighton

Manager Sam Holtham gave his thoughts after the game

“Myself and Leon are really pleased with scoring 5 goals and having a clean sheet against a side in a higher division. We expected Clitheroe to be much better than they displayed, them only having 10 players definitely had an impact on their performance. However credit to them, they didn’t give up.

We’d done our research and our game plan was all about being disciplined when out of possession and to counter attack. It turned out that we had control for the most part of the game. In the first half we struggled to break them down, so the message at HT was to play with more purpose. Following this the players gained the rewards through scoring 4 goals in the second half”
