The winless streak continues for Nomads as Abbey Hey take all 3 points from the first home game of the 21/22 season

Nomads took a 2-0 lead thanks to a couple of superb finishes from Will Shawcross, the second of which was from all of 40 yards.
We couldn’t hold on unfortunately and the visitors got one back just before half time

Nomads needed to start strong in the second half but it wasn’t to be and the visitors got back on level terms as 2 attempts to clear were poorly executed and the Abbey Hey striker had a strike at goal which found its way into the corner of the net.

This seemed to knock the stuffing out of Nomads and Abbey Hey continued to press forward looking for the winner and it was they that took the lead when a free kick was softly conceded and lead to a 3rd following more poor defending

Wilf Riley had a chance to equalise but a great reaction save from the keeper kept him out.

Despite the good start to the game, Nomads couldn’t keep it up and have again come away with nothing. It’s been a poor start to the season and improvement is needed before next weeks tough fixture against West Didsbury and Chorlton
