The promotion of our good friends, Stockport Georgians, into the Counties this season, brought the number of clubs in Division One South with SK postcodes to no fewer than five!
So, we thought it might be a bit of fun to set up the SK Championship, to see which of our local sides came out on top, based on league results over the 2022-23 campaign.
Stockport Town finished in pole position with 16 points from their eight, unbeaten games, just a point ahead of ourselves in second place.
We were also the championship’s top scorers with 22, helped in no small way by six goals apiece from our lethal strikers, Reuben Dass and Adama Sidibeh.
All the games between the SK rivals attracted super attendances, the best, though, came at Cromley Road when Georgians turned on their floodlights for the first time against ourselves, back in October. The game finished 1-1 in front of a bumper 478.
