Nomads reserves continued their fine unbeaten run with an away draw at Whalley Range. Despite dealing with several injuries, the reserves continued their climb up the ladder in the Cheshire league 1st division with a hard fought point against a team that will be amongst it at the end of the season
Nomads skipper Charlie Hill was a key figure in the game, having a hand in the first goal and scoring the second himself
Callum Davies gave us his thoughts on the game:
“A game of two halves really. Nomads having an outstanding first half performance and for sure show brilliant quality alongside a lot of possession. Whalley range scoring first against the run of play with a header at the back post.
Nomads first goal was a brilliant team goal as Charlie Hill played a ball in behind the back line for Dan Taylor to pull back to Emmanuel to score a tap in.
5 mins before half time Charlie hill shows brilliance with a back heal off a free kick to fire nomads into a 2-1 half time lead.
Whalley range make a change within shape and personnel and had the better of the second half, nomads struggle with direct balls onto the back line and they made the pressure count via a turnover of possession in midfield to slot the hosts in at 2-2.
Both sides dug deep to try find a winner but in the end a two all draw was a fair outcome.
Nomads move on now with 6 games unbeaten and look forward to our cup game in two weeks time. ⚽️??”
