NOMADS 3 BARNTON 1
Nomads picked up another 3 points in the league following a 3-1 win at home against Barnton. Goals from Kyle Foley, Will Shawcross and Robbie Wallis sealed the win.
The game started with Barnton on the front foot and they put the home team under a lot of pressure in the first 10 to 15 minutes but couldn’t make their chances count.
Nomads began to grow into the game and it was them that took the lead when Kyle Foley deflected a shot over the keeper and into the net. This seemed to deflate the visitors and the home team began to take control of the game and it was no surprise when they doubled their lead before the break. Good play around the box eventually found Will Shawcross who calmly chipped the keeper to make it 2-0
Nomads started the 2nd half with more confidence than they had the first, but despite the better possession, they couldn’t make any of their chances count. Fine saves from the Barnton keeper prevented Kyle Foley from getting his second and it was the away team that started to get more of the ball and put Nomads under pressure. Following a spell of sustained pressure they got what they deserved and pulled a goal back with about 15 minutes left on the clock.
It didn’t last long however as Nomads scored straight from the kick off. A ball from Charlie Mulgrew found Robbie Wallis who drove at the defence to score the goal of the game past the keeper and restore the two goal advantage.
Barnton weren’t finished however and kept going till the final whistle trying to get back into the game but the home side were able to hold on and saw the game put with no more scoring
thanks to Barnton for an entertaining game. Good luck for the rest of the season and we look forward to the reverse fixture next year
