Following the 5-2 demolition of SK8 neighbours, Cheadle Town, in their previous home game, Nomads brought the curtain down on the 2022-23 season on Saturday, with a comprehensive 5-1 victory over Stockport Georgians.

Harrison Cunningham and Adama Sidibeh put the Claret & Blues in charge of the game inside the opening 23 minutes, with Sidibeh and two Reuben Dass goals giving them a 5-0 advantage after the break.

Kyle Wych hit the Georgians consolation in the 6th minute of added time at the end of the game.

From being in a relegation dogfight before the arrival of manager Rory Fallon, back in November, victory on Saturday saw Nomads finish in 8th place, their highest-ever league position, after collection an astonishing 45 points in the 21 games the new boss has been in charge.

“The game was the perfect way to see out the season,” said a delighted Fallon. “I made it clear to the players beforehand that I didn’t want the game to be a lacklustre, end-of-season game, but to play with high energy and to go for it .

“We did exactly that, and I thought we put together an excellent performance in another local derby, which was particularly pleasing.”
