ALSAGER TOWN 5 NOMADS 0

It was a day to forget in Staffordshire as Nomads slumped to a 5-0 defeat, leaving them in 19th place with just one point from the opening fives games of the season.

Two goals from Kyle Campbell and Callum Collinson as well as a Tawab Djankpata goal gave the home side a comfortable victory.

The game was over by half-time, two goals in the opening 10 minutes did that damage and Nomads never recovered.

After the game, Jake Davies was understandably devastated by the performance.

“Unfortunately the start of the season is summed up by the performance today. The individual errors that players have made across the game today is incredibly disappointing and we’ve consistently shot ourselves in the foot. We’ve given ourselves a mountain to climb in the game and not put their goal under enough pressure. We’ve had more chances than we’ve created in any game today but haven’t scored and some great chances at that, they’re had 6 shots on our goal and 5 of them have gone in. We aren’t getting much going for us this season but I’m a firm believer that you create your own luck. We have a week now until the Stockport Town game on bank holiday Monday and ultimately there needs to be a massive amount of reflection and actions to back that up.

I can only apologise to the committee and fans that have turned up every week for the last 3 weeks to see the performances they have, they haven’t been good enough.”
